ERP Functional Consultant
This role is for an experienced ERP Functional Consultant who will own end-to-end ERP implementations across manufacturing, trading, retail, and service organizations. You will be responsible & accountable for requirement analysis, system configuration, user training, go-live ownership, and post-implementation stabilization.
1. Role Overview
The ERP Functional Consultant will act as the primary functional owner for ERP projects. This role requires strong accounting, inventory, and business process knowledge with the ability to translate customer requirements into standard ERP configurations with minimal customization.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end ERP implementations for customers across multiple industries
- Conduct requirement gathering, AS-IS / TO-BE process mapping, and GAP analysis
- Configure ERP modules including Accounts, Buying, Selling, Stock, Manufacturing, Projects, and HRMS (as applicable)
- Design and validate Chart of Accounts, taxes (GST, TDS), pricing rules, and approval workflows
- Define and validate inventory structures, valuation methods, warehouses, and controls
- Support manufacturing setups such as BOMs, routings, work orders, subcontracting, and quality processes
- Prepare and execute data migration plans and validate opening balances
- Conduct user training sessions and support UAT activities
- Own go-live readiness, execution, and post go-live stabilization
- Work closely with technical, DevOps, and support teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Control scope and customization through proper documentation and change management
3. Skills & Experience Required
- 4 - 6 years of experience in ERP functional consulting or ERP implementations
- Hands-on functional implementation experience with MSME focussed ERP Systems. (Similar to ERPNext / Odoo)
- Strong accounting fundamentals including GL, AP, AR, GST, and statutory compliance
- Solid understanding of inventory management and costing methods
- Manufacturing ERP exposure (BOM, routing, production planning, subcontracting) is required for manufacturing projects.
- Experience in requirement documentation, UAT coordination, and go-live support
- Ability to explain ERP concepts clearly to business users
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to manage multiple projects
4. Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience in manufacturing, trading, retail, or service industries are preferred. Exposure to multiple ERP implementations and customer-facing consulting roles will be an added advantage.
